A popular, hardy shrub with prolific red-pink flowers year-round.
Description
Grevillea Robyn Gordon is an iconic Australian native known for its deeply lobed foliage and large red toothbrush-like flowers. It is highly attractive to honey-eating birds and performs best in well-drained soil and full sun.
Robyn Gordon is one of the most popular grevilleas in Australia. It is a hybrid of Grevillea banksii and Grevillea bipinnatifida that usually forms a rounded shrub of one to two metres, and it carries large red flowers in flushes through most of the year.
It prefers full sun and soil that drains well, and it copes with light frost and dry spells once established. Avoid fertilisers high in phosphorus. Trimming after a flush of flowers keeps the shrub compact, and the flowers are a reliable food source for honeyeaters.
