Grevillea bronze rambler
$16.50
A tough, spreading groundcover with attractive bronze-tipped new growth.
Description
Grevillea Bronze Rambler is a highly resilient native groundcover with dark green, deeply divided foliage and red toothbrush flowers. It is particularly valued for its ability to suppress weeds and its beautiful bronze-coloured new shoots.
Bronze Rambler is a prostrate grevillea that usually stays well below half a metre high while spreading several metres wide, so one plant can cover a large patch of ground. New growth is tinged bronze before it ages to green, and the red flowers appear in flushes through much of the year.
Plant it in full sun or light shade in soil that drains well. Once established it needs little water and copes with dry spells and light frost. Use a slow release fertiliser made for native plants, as grevilleas can be sensitive to phosphorus, and cut back any stray growth after flowering.
