Grevillea juniper yellow
$16.50
A prickly, dense shrub featuring bright yellow-gold flowers.
Description
Grevillea juniperina (yellow) offers needle-like foliage that provides excellent protection for small nesting birds. Its bright yellow flowers provide a stunning contrast against the dark green leaves, and it is very drought-tolerant once established.
Grevillea juniperina is a native shrub with sharp, needle-like leaves. The yellow form usually grows to around one to one and a half metres tall with a similar spread, and the dense, prickly growth gives small birds somewhere safe to nest. Flowers appear mostly from late winter into spring.
Plant it in full sun and soil that drains well. Water young plants regularly, then leave it to look after itself except in very long dry spells. Avoid fertiliser that is high in phosphorus, and prune lightly after flowering if you want a tighter shape.
