Westringia zena

Westringia “Zena” is a dwarf form of coastal rosemary that naturally grows into a neat, rounded shape. It is perfect for low borders, pots, or as a low-maintenance filler in exposed or coastal positions.

This compact westringia keeps a tidy, rounded habit without much pruning. Its small grey-green leaves are held densely on the branches, and soft mauve flowers appear for much of the year, most heavily in spring.

Plant it in sun in free draining soil. Once it is established it needs little water and copes with exposed coastal sites. It is easy to grow along a path or at the front of a border, and a light clip after flowering is usually all it needs.
