Grevillea fanfare
$16.50
A fast-growing groundcover with distinctive sawtooth foliage and red flowers.
Description
Grevillea Fanfare is a vigorous prostrate shrub featuring deeply lobed, fan-like leaves and dark red toothbrush flowers. It is an excellent choice for banks or large open spaces where quick coverage is needed.
Fanfare is a hybrid between Grevillea gaudichaudii and Grevillea longifolia. It forms a low, spreading mound, usually around half a metre high and several metres across, with deeply cut leaves that give it a sawtooth look. The dark red flowers come mostly in spring, with more at other times of year.
It likes full sun and soil that drains freely, and it tolerates light frost once established. Water through the first summer, then only in long dry spells. It can be left to spread over a bank or trimmed lightly after flowering to keep it within bounds.
